Red Sea Global partners with Saudi Ground Services to elevate excellence in ground handling operations at RSI Airport

Riyadh, 29 May 2025: Red Sea Global (RSG) and daa International, the operator of the Red Sea International Airport (RSI), awarded a five-year agreement to Saudi Ground Services (SGS), to provide comprehensive ground handling services for all airlines operating at the airport, in compliance with the highest operational and environmental sustainability standards that set a new benchmark for operational excellence in the Kingdom.
The agreement was signed by John Pagano, GCEO of Red Sea Global, the developer of the airport, as well as Mohammad A. Mazi, CEO of Saudi Ground Services Company, and Andy Tyler-Smith, CEO of Red Sea International Airport, in the presence of several executive officials and specialists in the air transport and airport services industry.

Through this agreement, SGS will be responsible for delivering passenger services both within the terminal and at The Red Sea resorts, overseeing all apron operations including aircraft marshalling, pushback, towing, and ground power connection, as well as managing baggage handling. In addition, the agreement outlines a robust pricing structure, positioning the RSI Airport among the most competitively serviced airports in Saudi Arabia.
The Red Sea welcomed its first guests in 2023. It now has five hotels open, as well as the Red Sea International Airport (RSI). Situated within three hours' flying time of 250 million people and eight hours' flying time for 85% of the world’s population, RSI is the gateway to the destination for guests and residents alike, whether based in the Kingdom or further afield. RSG is on track to compete all 16 hotels that make up Phase One of The Red Sea in 2025.
Upon full completion in 2030, the destination will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites. The destination will also include luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment, F&B, and leisure facilities.
